The Leadership Committee
The Leadership Committee is comprised of three committees: The Executive Committee, the Events Committee, and the Marketing Committee.
Members of the Executive Committee are also Student Chairs, and the committee is responsible for the overall administration of the Academies of Loudoun Mini-THON, the Leadership Committee, as well as communication with the school administration and other outside entities.
Every other committee has a particular focus. Currently, there are two other ones, Events and Marketing. However, as our membership expands, we plan to create additional committees, such as a Finance and Merchandise Committee.

Dynamic Structure
Our committees follow a dynamic structure, meaning that committee members (excluding those of the Executive Committee) may switch between committees throughout the year based on the workload and demand each committee has (this is relatively easy to understand; For example, the Marketing Committee may need more members when an event is being announced, but the Events Committee may need more members once the date of the event nears).
In general, we will try our best to take the preferences and skills of our members into account when assigning/switching committees.
Note: A particular committee may not always be available depending on the day you attend ACL. Visit our Leadership Committee FAQs page to learn more

Events CommitteeThe Events Committee is responsible for all things event-related (eg. fundraisers). This is a great committee for those who like to plan, organize, communicate, and decorate.
For now, the Events Committee is also responsible for anything merchandise-related. However, once we have enough members, we eventually wish to form a separate Merchandise Committee. |
Marketing CommitteeThe Marketing Committee is responsible for all marketing and PR, such as morning announcements, emails, flyers, or social media. This is a great committee for those who have a knack for advertising, designing, creating powerful messages, or using the influence of social media to promote causes.
If you have experience with graphics/photo/video production, the Marketing Committee would also be a great place for you. |
Website Development Team
The Website Development Team is responsible for designing, maintaining, and updating the Academies of Loudoun Mini-THON webpage.
The Website Development Team (WDT) is not a committee, rather, any Leadership Committee member is free to join it as a secondary responsibility.
Because the website will require minimal updating most of the time, the majority of the time of anyone in the WDT will be spent in their regular committees. However, when there is a significant amount of website work to be done, WDT members may be temporarily relieved of their usual committee responsibilities so they can better focus on the website.
No experience is necessary to join the WDT. We use Weebly, which is rather simple to use, although WDT members may need to watch a few introductory videos to learn how to efficiently navigate the interface.
